Step by step paintings.

On this page I would like to show you how some of my paintings developed over time as I painted them. Every artist works differently, I like to get a base layer of colour down in an area that I am going to work on, usually a slightly darker 'mid tone' for the area and then onto that layer I add the lighter highlight colours and tones. There's a lot of adjusting and layering also, but the basic dark to light principle is the one I follow.
